Account, password, and your data
Your profile
Section titled “Your profile”Set your display name and choose whether it appears on public leaderboards or shows as “Anonymous” instead. Choosing “Anonymous” does more than hide the name: it also puts your individual result page, splits, and GPS track out of everyone else’s reach, whatever the event itself allows. You can also set the language Checkpoint uses for you. Your email address is your login and can’t be changed from the profile page.
Who can see your results
Section titled “Who can see your results”Event leaderboards are public. What’s behind each row — an athlete’s detailed result, splits, GPS track, and map — is the organizer’s choice per event: open to everyone, to the people registered for that event, or to its organizers only. You can always open your own, and your own privacy setting above overrides whatever the event allows.
Changing your password
Section titled “Changing your password”Open Change password from your profile, enter your current password and a new one, and you’re done — no need to log out and back in.
Forgot your password
Section titled “Forgot your password”On the login page, follow Forgot password? and enter your email. If an account exists for that address, you’ll receive a reset link by email; it takes you to a page where you can set a new password.
Signing in with Google or Microsoft
Section titled “Signing in with Google or Microsoft”Instead of a Checkpoint password, you can register and log in using your Google or Microsoft account, where available.
Exporting your data
Section titled “Exporting your data”From your profile, Export my data downloads everything Checkpoint holds about you — your profile, memberships, registrations, results, and recorded GPS tracks — as a single file.
Deleting your account
Section titled “Deleting your account”Delete my account permanently anonymizes your identity: your name is removed from leaderboards and rosters, but your finalized race times stay in place anonymously so event results remain accurate. This can’t be undone. Any Google or Microsoft sign-in linked to the account is disconnected at the same time, so that same account can be used to register again later. If you’re the sole admin of a club or team with other members, transfer ownership or disband it first.
